Greetings and Salutations All:

Read about some "good stuff" coming up ...

On Saturday, April 9 at 12:00 noon, weather permitting, club member Jeff KW6MOT will ride his bicycle mobile up to the top of Mount Rubidoux and conduct a simplex test on 146.880, no PL.  (The rain date will be Saturday, April 23).  He will log all his contacts so that we can map the locations.  If you are available, please join us as we test the simplex capabilities.  It’s been several years since anyone has done this.  The W6TJ repeater will be turned off from 12:00 to about 12:30 p.m. to better facilitate the experience.  Results will be published in the May MONITOR.

NOTE:  Due to the weather forecast, it looks like rain is predicted for Saturday.  Please note the rain date of April 23 as the alternate for the test

The Meeting will feature a presentation by Mike W6WAR on the Pacific Seafarers Net.  Sounds like an interesting topic.

Also, we will be voting on the club’s new improved updated Bylaws and Constitution.  Please be reminded that if you are unable to attend the meeting, you can still vote via email by sending your decision to our Club Secretary, Duane N6JPO at d.k.allen@att.net any time before midnight on Wednesday, April 13, the day before the meeting.  Your vote is important in helping to make RCARA more efficient and effective and we hope to have a good representation at the meeting.  You can review the proposed changes in the April MONITOR.

We will meet on Tuesday, April 19, 11:00 a.m. at the Back Street Café on Nelson & Brockton Streets in Riverside.  Please let me know if you will be joining us so I can make reservations.

With all good wishes, 73
